Who We Are:The Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) is one of the largest and fastest growing educational and scientific multimodal professional transportation organizations in the world. This means that as a University of Utah student, you will have access to an abundance of information and resources to help you further your understanding and status as an engineer. ITE will help you grow as a professional, help you advance in your individual field of endeavor, and help you make a positive contribution to society.
What We Do: As a chapter of the national ITE group, we try to help students get a foot in the door of professional transportation employment. We have activities that further the knowledge of transportation engineering, fund raisers, and service projects that help students become familiar with the transportation profession. We are very active, attend various conferences and enthusiastically participate in many ITE competitions.
Our chapter has great relationships with the people from the industry. We bring guest speakers and go to field trips. We organize student seminars, where each of us has an opportunity to present and discuss his/her work. We have great faculty advisors who put a lot of time and effort in supporting our chapter.
We are connected to the professional ITE Utah chapter. Our representatives attend monthly luncheons and are actively involved in lectures and discussions. Come with us and meet a lot of great people and transportation professionals. Student members get free lunch! Every 3rd Tuesday of the month at the Chinese Gourmet in Murray at noon.
